2311 mould steel (2311 pre hardened plastic mould steel) is a type of steel that has good processing and polishing properties after heat treatment, making it more suitable for electric discharge machining. It can be used for general manufacturing of large plastic molds and as a plastic mold base.

Factory status
Pre hardening to 980-1080N/mm ² (30-34HRC) Steel characteristics: This steel is P20 with 1.1% nickel. The surface to center hardness of the steel is uniform and consistent, with good cutting performance. The spark machine and polishing performance are excellent, suitable for gasification, hard chromium plating, and titanium plating. Usage: Suitable for high demand plastic molds, especially molds over 400mm thick. Annealing: Heat soak at 720-740 ºC for sufficient time, then cool down to 600 ºC with the furnace, and then cool in air to obtain a hardness of approximately 240HB (highest). Stress relief: Heat to 600 ºC and keep it in a protective gas furnace for about 2 hours, then slowly cool down with the furnace. Quenching: Oil is quenched after insulation at 840-860 ºC, or air cooled slightly above room temperature for immediate tempering after insulation at 860-880 ºC, resulting in a hardness of about 54HRC. Tempering: Immediately temper after quenching, for no less than 2-2.5 hours, and then discharge the furnace for air cooling. Size specification: circular plate
